Adventure Out hosted by BDRAdventure Out! is a space to learn, explore, and share the adventure of life on two wheels.  It encourages attendees to get out and ride, featuring leading brands in the adventure and touring segments and guest speakers sharing stories about their experiences on two wheels. Come kick back at our moto campsite, take a virtual ride on the a BDR, interact with experienced riders and listen to their stories and tips, and find all the gear, parts and accessories you need for your next trek or tour from participating Adventure Out! Exhibitors.  The non-profit organization, Backcountry Discovery Routes® (BDR), is the official host of Adventure Out! and attendees could pick up a complimentary copy of the most recent copy of Rider Magazine, your source for touring, travel and adventure on 2-wheels.

Backcountry Discovery Routes® is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization that creates off-highway routes for dual-sport and adventure motorcycles. Through education, advocacy, and promotion of responsible motorcycle travel, BDR seeks to preserve backcountry motorcycling opportunities for generations to come. Backcountry Discovery Routes® has created 9 cross-state routes over the last decade. For each BDR route, a full-length documentary film, a Butler Motorcycle Map, and free GPS tracks are produced. BDR will be educating attendees on how to get out on two wheels and offering virtual rides on a BDR with the BDR 360 VR Experience.

Northeast Backcountry Discovery Routes Film Premeire (Chicago Only)
Join us in Chicago for a screening of the Northeast Backcountry Discovery Routes in Advenutre Out at 6pm on Friday, February 7th. This documentary chronicles the crossing of more state lines and covering more mileage than any other BDR and makes the NEBDR one of the most diverse routes in the BDR series. This newly added route will test riders endurance and skills on an epic 1,400-mile backcountry tour of the Northeast Region up to the Canadian border. The tracks meander through seven states and nearly a dozen state forests on dirt and gravel roads, challenging seasonal and class 4 roads, and twisty tarmac. Come see what it was like to plan and ride this awesome route.

Bret Tkacs co-founded Puget Sound Safety in 1996 and has earned a reputation as one of the world’s top experts in motorcycle safety and curriculum development. In addition to training ADV riders he has been hired for his expertise by foreign governments, the U.S. Military, police departments and private industry. Fighting an often devastating and disabling diagnosis the only way he knows how, former Iron Butt Rally competitor Paul Longhaulpaul Pelland is truly riding for his life, attempting to document a million miles as he raises awareness and funds for Multiple Sclerosis. As a patient advocate he shares his story at MS educational events and fundraisers; and as a long distance rider and industry advocate, he presents entertaining and motivational seminars for motorcyclists and the general public across the United States.  He organizes annual motorcycle fundraisers, writes for various magazines and over the last seven years has set three world records, ridden 400,000 miles and raised over $180,000 for charity. Lisa Malachowsky
New York, Washington D.C., Cleveland
Lisa is a life-long motorcycling ambassador who has ridden motorcycles for almost as long as she has been walking. She has done a great deal of riding in all parts of the US, has toured off-road in South Africa and on pavement in Italy, Corsica and Sardinia. Her career in the industry started in 2005 at motorcycle dealers in both Northern California and Arizona working in management roles. She has spent the last three years passionately advocating for the expansion of opportunities for female motorcycle riders through her work on the Sisters’ Centennial Motorcycle Ride, through a two year term as the Industry Liaison for the Women’s Coalition of Motorcyclists, and in her current role as the Community Liaison and Marketing Officer for the Women’s Motorcyclist Foundation. She is a key contributor on the DIRTY for GOOD project: providing dual-sport motorcycle training to women. She is also the New York Historical Route Lead for the Suffragists Centennial Motorcycle Ride to be held in August 2020.

Jocelin Snow
Long Beach & Washington, D.C.
Starting at the age of 12, Sow has now participated in road racing, flat track, hare scrambles, motocross, and supermoto competitions over her career, including the 2018 BMW GS Trophy Challenge.  Snow is an avid motorcyclist who has owned over 40 motorcycles, owned and operated an off-road riding school, and appeared on TV for Zero Motorcycles.  Snow will present at IMS Long Beach and Washington, D.C., sharing her stories from her esteemed racing career and offering tips for getting out on two wheels.

Peter Starr
Dallas, Cleveland, and Minneapolis
One of the pioneers of filming and televising motorcycle sport in the United States, Starr has produced and directed more than 40 television specials on motorcycling and motorsports. His work has been seen on ESPN, the BBC, ABC, and The History Channel among others. Starr will participate in Adventure Out! at IMS Minneapolis, Cleveland, and Chicago, talking about his world travels, new book, and experience with motorcycling.

Jamie Robinson - MotoGeo
New York and Chicago
Jamie Robinson was born into a 2-wheeled world due to a motorcycle obsessed father who chopped up an old Garelli moped and taught his son to ride at 3½. After growing up watching his Dad race around tracks like Cadwell and Mallory Park on his 500cc BSA Gold Star, Jamie swapped his dirt-bike gear for racing leathers and joined his Dad racing the asphalt tracks in 1992. Going on to race in British, European and World Championship events, as well as the road courses of the Isle of Man TT and recently Pikes Peak, Jamie now usually wears adventure gear as he takes to the hills for his next adventure.  Moto + Adventure = MotoGeo
